Five Pros of Working from the Comfort of Your Home

Working from home definitely has its perks, especially for stay at home mothers who have daily house chores and the responsibility of taking care of the kids. Whether you choose to work from home full time or just to earn some extra cash on the side is totally up to you. Who doesn’t love a little extra cash flow at the end of the week? Listed below are five of the best things about working from home.

  1. Little to No Commute

It’s no secret that rush hour traffic is time consuming as well as frustrating. Travel and the possibility of an accident or even just foul weather can make you late to the office. Working from home eliminates the hassle, at least for your work from home gig.

Perks

  • Commute from your bed to the couch
  • Avoid the weather outside i.e. no cleaning off your car in the winter!
  • Save the miles on your car and the gas in your tank.

  1. Make Your Own Hours

Making your own hours is a great benefit of working from home. As I mentioned before, working from home is great for mothers, especially new mothers who want to stay home with their newborn child. Juggling house chores, a newborn baby and a job with at least a 15-20 minute travel time can be rough. Keep in mind that knowing how to budget your time is important and some work at home positions do have deadlines that need to be met.

Some ideas for you stay at home moms

  1. There Is No Dress Code

Certain dress codes are required depending on what industry you work in. Law enforcement requires an issued uniform, and everyone has to look the same while construction workers are required to wear sturdy boots, jeans, a t-shirt and any protective equipment. The typical 9-5 in an office requires business casual, which can be boring. Luckily, when you work at home, you can dress however you feel fit. Don’t want to change out of your pajamas? No problem! Just remember, should you have to Skype with a client, do look presentable as you are representing a company.

  1. Avoid Office Drama

No matter where you work there will always be someone who knows it all, someone who has the scoop on everyone’s personal life, someone who only has their own best interest in mind, and of course, The Boss, except for in your own home. However at home, you have your family who depends on you and wants you to be successful. Having more time to spend with your family is a fantastic benefit of working at home so here are some tips to keeping a healthy, drama free, family and work from home balance.

  1. Save More Money and Time

Think about it, when you work from home, you have eliminated some expenses and added more time to your week. You’ve cut the cost of fuel, childcare and going out for lunch (because we all forget our lunch sometimes). That time you spend getting ready and traveling to work turns into extra sleep or more time to live a healthy fit lifestyle.

Hope this helped! Good Luck!
